Good morning,
So I am away in the Lake District at the moment for my wifes 30th Birthday…..
Whilst she is a sleep I thought I would quickly pop something over that I think might be useful to help get people started. It stemmed from yesterday really when I had a session to do and it was just one of those days when the planned session was just becoming very difficult to achieve, I won’t bore you with all the details but suffice to say I just felt that these ¾ tips might just help make that start easier for people……
3 tips that can have you back in your favourite jeans faster than you thought…
probably not ones you were expecting hear but they are the ones that are the most powerful!
1. Stick at it!
So you’ve started exercising and your watching what you eat.
You didn’t get MASSIVE results in the first couple of weeks.
Completely normal for some, different for others.
^ this is how it goes.
You need to stay strong and stick with the process, particularly if you know long term the programme gets results.
If you’re genuinely eating less (sometimes you might need to gauge your total calories using
something like the myfitnesspal app)
Genuinely exercising more.
Genuinely sleeping around 8 hours per night
Genuinely drinking around 1 litre per 50lbs of body weight
You’re GOING to get results the fastest for you.
STICK AT IT. You’ll thank yourself in a months time. After all that time will pass by anyway, you may as well have a crack at it!
DEFINITELY!
2. Beware what you drink.
Hopefully we know sodas and energy drinks. i.e. Coke, full fat energy drinks x,y,z,
Are basically sugar liquid and give your body tonnes of extra calories.
But perhaps you didn’t know, so does…
Fruit juice, a lot of cordials squashes, ‘flavoured water’, ‘oasis’, Ribena
A lot of things on there most people would consider healthy.
But we should really question the ‘health’ benefits of heavily liquidised concentrated fruit (juice)
Why not just eat little more fruit which is WAY healthier…..more fibre in it and it’s the fibre that helps us feel full and improves the health of our gut….
and then drink mostly water!
I’m NOT saying you cant have alcoholic drinks on really special occasions (I do!!!)
BUT you should try and focus on water for your day to day.
Drop the liquid calories that soon add up and notice your waistline coming down!
3. Eat Protein.
HONESTLY I have seen this SO many times in my career.
SO many meal plans (must be thousands)
And people just aren’t eating enough protein to get in ‘good shape’
Thing is this is SO easy.
AND will probably make you feel you are eating more tasty food and you’ll be pleased for it!!.
Meats (whole kinds are best avoid processed meat), poultry, eggs, low fat greek yoghurt, fish,
protein shakes (avoid anything with added carbs or fat, Ive found whey or vegan protein to work best).
So much selection of food to be had with this much protein.
You can have a delicious meal or snack every time you eat!
You should be aiming for 20-40g per serving. Remember that although an egg weighs 30g approx, there’s actually only 7-9g of protein in one, so you will need a minimum of 3 if you choose to have eggs as your sole protein source in a meal. Otherwise, a fist size portion at each meal is a good idea.
4. BRUCEY BONUS
Exercise using strength training.
Yep use exercise that involve you pushing your muscles under resistance.
You can start today with bodyweight movements.
squats, lunges, push ups, planks, (YouTube any of these) . I have over 400 YouTube videos for you to look at and make sure you are doing the exercises properly.
When trying to get a body shape, exercise is about toning your muscles!
