9 Things You Need To Know About Getting The Most From Your
Training- For You!
By the way this article will have JUST as much relevance to those
who do train as it will to those who don’t! It could be then help
you have been looking for ……
So keep reading……
1) NEVER TAKE YOUR HEALTH FOR GRANTED
You wouldn’t take your wife, husband or children for granted, and
all of them depend on your health and wellbeing! Never forget that,
and NEVER GET LAZY in your efforts to be healthy.
2) YOU CANNOT ENRICH THE LIVES BY BECOMING A POORER VERSION OF
YOURSELF.
As committed as you are to being an awesome person to be with for
your friends, partner, kids and work colleagues , remember that you
will not be the person you want to be if you just allow yourself to
self-harm. That “you time” will give you space to create happiness
for others!
3) EMBRACE CHANGES IN THE WAY YOU FEEL ABOUT EXERCISE
You will constantly change. Your body will constantly change!
You’re not the same person you were when you got married, before
you had children or before you had to work.
In ten years you will not be the same person you are today.
Listen to your body, if you are healthy make the most of it!
4) STOP PUTTING YOURSELF DOWN. FOCUS ON THE THINGS YOU ARE GOOD AT!
You wouldn’t talk to someone else like it, so don’t keep putting
yourself down.
You wouldn’t keep telling your partner how bad they are etc etc!
Stop doing it to yourself.
You are the person you spend most time with, you cant afford
(metaphorically) to be engaging in negative self talk!
Be bloody thankful for what you do have!
Stop worrying about what you cant do when training (and in life)
and start focusing on what you can do and get better, be excellent!
Different to perfection I might add…..leave perfection alone…..even
Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie have flaws!
5) IT IS NOT YOUR JOB TO WORRY ABOUT THE SCIENCE- FIND SOMEONE YOU
RESPECT AND TRUST.
You gotta focus on what you NEED to know!
I am getting very good at that….to the point where my mum thinks I
am forgetful….but actually what I am doing it not trying to retain
S41T that is not important to me!
When it comes to training and nutrition , you don’t need to worry
about what the chemical is in tomatoes that is anti cancerous, what
the chemical is in the broccoli that makes it a powerful fat
burner, what the best format for interval training to improve your
strength endurance!
If you work with me I would have told you or have done it for you,
but that’s because I like to empower my clients, so that once I am
not their coach , the game doesn’t stop!
6) TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR HEALTH.
TAKE FULL ACCOUNTABILITY for your health!
It’s not your dog or guinea pigs job to make you healthy!
You are responsible for it!
You buy the food (if you don’t then you still put it in your
mouth), you know where your bed is, you can turn your phone off,
you cannot check your emails late at night, you can get out of your
comfort zone and make the magic happen!
7) NEVER BLAME ANYONE ELSE IF YOUR FITNESS TAKES A DIP
NEVER BLAME your dog, wife, husband or cat If YOU get frustrated or
angry because your fitness and health isn’t where it is!
You can blame your job, but no one made you take it!
If it is important to you , you will find a way!
I am constantly reminded of this EVERY SINGLE DAY when I work with
parents at 6:20am before work, with business owners who schedule in
training during the day, with my Junior Strength Academy members
who message me to ask me for home work!
8) HAVE A LAUGH- ENJOY IT
Get together with friends and do crazy stuff!
Use the fitness you have to do race for life in your pink panther
outfit!
Get involved in 10 K races for charity!
Do a mud run and throw mud at each other along the way!
( talking of which if you want to get involved in our next mud run
programme we have 1 space left now. Go HERE if you want to get in on
it)
Train with friends at weekends , go to the beach and race your dog!
Or in my case try and hold on for dear life!
But seriously, enjoy taking yourself outside of your comfort zone
and have a laugh at the same time!
9) BE IN THE MOMENT – #IFYOUARECHATTINGYOUARENOTTRAINING
BE PRESENT. Stop worrying about Eastenders, don’t worry about work,
your kids or your homework for a small part of your week!
Don’t just give your time (that’s minor) , but give your focus,
your attention and be the best version of you every time you put
that t shirt on to go training!
Do what ever it takes to clear your head, so that when you are
training you are training not chatting! Chat when the rest is
there, don’t let the chat dictate the rest!
Treat the hour as the most valuable one that day!
The rewards will be far greater than the hours effort itself!
Be EPIC at your next training session, if it is your first for a
while I salute you for being an action taker!
Matt ☺
