Chocolate Amnesty Going Great Guns
Local people from Launceston are being encouraged to lighten their stockings this festive season and trade their excess chocolates for a workout.
Matt Luxton from FA Fitness Personal Training and Blast Fitness Camps is spearheading the campaign that encourages local people to donate any unwanted or excess sweets, chocolates or other goodies to charity.
The treats can be handed in to the guys at The FA Fitness Studio or at a Blast Fitness Camp and they will then be donated to Kernow House.
Amnesty organiser Matt says: “The idea is that people shouldn’t want to eat sweets and chocolates just for the sake of it. Everybody has an excess of treats at Christmas and it can be so unhealthy to eat large amounts of these foods. At some point it has to stop.
“By giving them up they are saving calories and by having a workout they are burning calories, it’s a win-win situation.
“The chocolate amnesty helps everyone. The Kernow House will benefit by getting some unexpected gifts and the donators can get healthier as a result”.
If you want to make a donation the amnesty is running from January 4th to January 12th and you can make your donations to Matt Luxton at FA Fitness, Yeat Farm, Lifton, Devon, PL16 0LB.
