Morning,
I hope you are well.
I just wanted to ping you a quick email before I leave Perth to head back to the UK after a bit of time out here in Australia travelling and exploring since the big race 3 weeks ago.
Again, another success story (remember if these bore you, just unsubscribe at the bottom).
This time the congratulations to go to my client Nicky, and I have to say now adopted family member (by my sisters Lizzie and Torie) on her outstanding performance at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. Nicky’s commitment to her training and nutrition this year has been phenomenal and I am looking forward to helping her achieve her goals next season!
Here is the original article from the Tavistock Times Gazette…..
Congratulations are very much deserved by Tavistock’s very own athlete Nicky Deane~Simmons after she qualified to represent Great Britain in the World Triathlon Championships, this year held in Mooloolaba Australia on the 4th September.
Nicky competes in Full IronMan events, on this occasion she represented Team GB in the half IronMan Middle Distance.
First is the swim of 1900m, that’s the equivalent to swimming in the pool for 76 lengths.
A speedy transition to her bike to cycle 56 miles. Lastly the run, 13miles/half marathon!
The swim was a personal best for Nicky, 34 minutes which is fantastic as it was in the sea, so waves & tides to battle against compared to the normal lakes or rivers.
Another PB was on the bike course, 3 hours 6 minutes, which again is amazing achievement due to the heat, humidity & many steep hills.
The run was extremely tough as the day grew hotter, but still managed a great time of 2hour 11 minutes.
The Tavistock triathletes main aim was to come in the top 40 in her 55-59 age group, she surpassed this by coming 32nd in the World out of 80 female competitors
& was the First Brit to cross the finish line in a time of 6 hour & 6 minutes, so not your average stroll around the park on a Sunday.
Nicky is soon returning to her job as a swim teacher at Mount Kelly College & will resume training with Matt Luxton’s F.A Fitness which gave her the core strength to be very competitive, which without him this would not of been achievable.
Also she will enjoy rejoining Tavistock Triathlon Club & cycling with Tavistock Wheelers.
Opportunity for you
I am just about to open the doors officially to my Challenge Coaching in which I will be inviting 5 people to apply for a place on a 3-12 month programme in which I will
be personally helping them achieve their goal.
If you need (or know of someone who does) help achieving this please email info@fa-fitness.co.uk with a bit of pre information for me to look at and I will be in touch to let you know
if we can work together on this.
That’s it for now, have a great weekend.
Matt 🙂
