How To Get Started With Your Fitness Goals

 

A lot of people come to us (Mike and I) as coaches because they “want someone to motivate me”.

 

 

The common reply is that “we need to help you find your own motivation”. When it comes from within, the draw is more powerful…..it’s like peeling an onion, under covering all the ‘false reasons’ if you like….getting to the bottom of it!

 

 

But sometimes you won’t find it until you start. That is cool by the way!

 

 

This happens in a lot of situations…..

  • You get into your gym session only after the first few sets or rounds.

 

  • You get into your fat loss program only after 2-3 weeks.

 

  • You get into reading/writing that article after 10 minutes of staring at an empty page.

 

  • You don’t want to be out of bed until you’re out running and breathing and listening to your tunes.

 

  • You don’t want to travel outside your comfort zone until you’ve gone so far you can’t go back…

 

…then something flips in your head and you feel stupid for not doing it earlier. That’s kind of how I’ve felt with many of my ideas!

 

 

How many times have you said “I wish I had done this earlier”?

 

We get that all of the time with our clients……but hey in this instance ‘better late than never’.

It’s great you did it, but what else are you STILL missing out on just because you don’t trust the thing inside that is saying “JUST START”

 

Just like Jack did just over 6 weeks ago. He made the decision to start and Mike did his assessment this morning and he has lost 6 inches (16cm) from his waist and 5Kg. Not only that but his fitness tests that we did have improved no end.

 

 

Sometimes it’s okay to accept that something inside you knows you need to do ‘it’ without understanding why.

 

I don’t believe anybody ever starting something amazing without having a gazillion reasons not to.

 

Just start and the rest will come!

 

Give it no choice.

 

It’s not arrogance to believe you can do anything – the arrogance lies in believing you know better than that thing welling up inside trying to get you to move.

 

GET AFTER IT!
