Problems with commercial chain gym mentality on your health and fitness >>

We sleep.

We wander 20 feet from the bedroom to the kitchen and We sit.

We eat a giant bowl of kid food (cereal) with milk and sugar pretending We are healthy. We are eating cardboard fortified with iron from a box.

We carry coffee another 20 feet to our car for a poorly planned dashboard breakfast.

We sit in this car drinking coffee, frothy milk and  sugar.

We arrive at work, go to our desk and sit for 9 hours. We eat lunch at our desk thinking we are more productive.

We drive home further squashing our backside. We walk into the gym, cursing the fact we had to park so far away from the front door and then we workout, again sitting on our bums with a useless  workout from our text book from the ever reliable.

We sit on our backsides with a big card and move from machine to machine.

We go home and sit for 4 hours watching mindless TV and snacking.

And then we lay down again.

Eating too much is bad for us.
Drinking too much is bad for us.
Smoking is stupid and bad for us.
Sitting is just as bad for us as all those other nasty things.

The last thing we need to ever do in a gym is sit.
The last thing we need is a circuit training program moving from one seated position to another .

Good gyms and programmes offer upright holistic workouts.
Good gyms have coaches skilled in getting us off our backsides and upright.
Good gyms  and good coaches are all about movement.

We need to get off our backsides…..and find a good gym and coaches to help us move not sit!
