Why Guess When You Can Be Accurate

I am not sure if you have been watching the Rugby World Cup…..I must admit I mildly addicted…..

Off to Twickenham with one of my mates this weekend to watch the All Blacks Vs South Africa.

During the world cup, there was an advert that caught my eye…… I must admit….I can’t remember the brand,

BUT…..

this picture really caught my eye….. and the message given in the advert was…….

” why guess when you can be accurate”…….

why guess when you can be accurate

Which really followed up nicely with an email I received from a client after we had a conversation at training on Tuesday.

It all stemmed from me picking up on her technique during a session early in her journey with me.

Had I not have done that, she probably wouldn’t have been able to claim that her hips feel better than they did when she was 20….

check out her email here…..

I guess the message here is where you can you should be paying attention to the things you can control and looking after

the processes that make for a successful journey when your health and fitness are concerned.

Here are a few ways you can do this.

1. Health Measurements-

With our clients we actually use ultrasound technology to accurately measure body fat, muscle mass, hydration and excess fat. Not only that we look at blood pressure and recovery rates from sub maximal exercise to measure improvements. If you want to know more about this please email me (info@fa-fitness.co.uk) as we do offer assessments to people outside of our client base.

2. Tracking Your Activity Levels-

One of the systems we have recently introduced to our online coaching clients is Training Peaks, a brilliant tool that not only is useful for those who swim, cycle and run, but also to those who want to track their activity levels and basically have a diary of what they achieved. Its also great to use for me as a coach, because I can plan out and see what my clients have done. Whether you be a coach or fitness enthusiast I recommend this.

3. Looking at what you eat and recording it-

This app that we use with some clients, is MyFitnessPal… a great tool for those wanting to keep an eye on what is actually making up their foods. How much carbohydrate, protein and fat is consumed etc is a really useful tool. You can also put your favourite recipe in and it will calculate whats in it as well. A great feature as well is that it has a bar code feature which you can scan and it will find the food for you. Explore this one, its really useful

I hope you find that useful. Speak soon,

Matt 🙂
